[4] The Eatonton Cotton Factory
The Eatonton Cotton Factory, located at Little River and GA 16, was burned by Union Troops in 1864. The village and gristmill were not destroyed so villagers could keep their homes and produce food. Sherman met with one of his generals here to change the route to Milledgeville, the state capital at the time.
